Further notes from the road
Aug. 11th, 2011 01:35 pmThe wind turbines visible from the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Somerset are nowhere near as creepy as the ones near Wilkes-Barre. I have no explanation for this.
So, yesterday's drive from Ann Arbor to Philadelphia was, I'm pretty sure, the longest one-day road trip I've ever done. I was oddly charmed to see signs along the road announcing when I was moving between the watershed regions of different river systems. I made it home in ten and a half hours exactly including rest stops, which I think is pretty impressive; and for some reason, I seem to have taken notes on the progress I made.
( I didn't say it was an interesting story )
