Last night Uz asked me if he could borrow my laptop for a few minutes, since his was out of power and he had destroyed the power cord. No problem, I say, and hand over the— wait a minute, destroyed the power cord?

Yes, he says; he did it so that he would stop wasting time online all day instead of working. But then his laptop died when he was just about to send an important e-mail, so now he needed to borrow mine so he could send it.

He has no intention, he says, of getting a new power cord.

Uz plays Dominion

midnight_sidhe and I had some friends over to play Dominion the other day, when Uz walked by and said 'I've gotten so hooked on online Dominion recently; I've been playing so much that I've gotten scarily good at it."

I allowed as how that's been known to happen sometimes.

He went on to explain that he's achieved a pretty high skill ranking on the leaderboard, and then today he said he'd spent some time reading about how the algorithm for the leaderboard works.

I went and looked. His skill ranking on the leaderboard is 0. I mean, seriously?
