dr_whom: D., did you seriously leave a knife in the dish drainer without washing it first?
D: I... guess? I might have done something like that? I mean, I don't have any awareness of having done that.
dr_whom: Well, from now on don't do that. Really the only time you should be putting dishes in the drainer at all is immediately after washing them.
D: All right. I certainly didn't do it intentionally. I wasn't down there saying "What can I do to piss dr_whom off?"
dr_whom: All right. Just try and keep closer track of what you're doing with the dishes.
D: And I know I'm in general not as good as you guys are about rinsing things off thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. Especially with peanut butter. That's one of my failings.
dr_whom: Sure. But I mean, the drainer is simple—you only need to put things in it if you've just washed them.
D: ...Wait, the drainer? I'm really sorry. Oh, wow.

I can picture him at a job interview: "What would you say is your biggest weakness?" "Well, I'm not very good at washing peanut butter off my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher."

Also, I had no idea that thing was called a dish drainer (had to google image search to figure out what you meant). Yay knowledge!

I loathe that interview question, because it really means, "have you prepped for this interview by making up something superficial?"

It is indeed a bad question (and my current boss didnt ask it). I once had 2 answers to that question lined up for an interview. They asked me "what are your 3 biggest weaknesses".

I also have a hard time with that because I'm torn between being honest ("I am easily distracted and sometimes spend all day reading the Internet") and getting the job.
