Have you encountered the regional differences in American Girl Scout cookies? The ones you buy in Delaware are different (better) than the ones you buy in PA.
(The differences are pretty subtle, but Girl Scouts USA has two different bakeries, and there are some shape/size/texture differences between the bakeries.)
That's the noticeable difference between Girl Guide "Chocolatey Mints" and Girl Scout "Thin Mints": the Canadian ones have a white layer of mint icing or something between the outer chocolatey coating and the cookie proper.
