I've broken three glasses and a plate in the last month. Well, one glass I noticed was cracked and so I threw it away; but the other two, I was getting something out of the cupboard next to them and knocked them over in doing so, and the plate I dropped while unloading it from the dishwasher. Am I getting clumsy and/or careless in my, um, advanced age? Or is this just random statistical clustering? In any event it's disconcerting, to say the least. I don't think I broke that many dishes in the last, say, five years up to that.

Random Lj'r stopping by. I have broken two glasses in the last twenty four hours, which is a number that doubles what ice broken in the last year. It really is disconcerting! (Although the last one didn't slice a chunk of skin off like the one yesterday did. Bright sides and silver
Innings and all that jazz.) just neat to see someone else noting something I've noticed myself.

You moved to a new place recently, after spending years in your previous residence. You may need time to adjust to the new space; muscle-memory takes time to build.

Agreed! It could be that the locations and heights of things are still unfamiliar.
