Computer problems
Mar. 27th, 2013 09:53 pmSo, what I thought was one of the problems with my laptop's battery—that when you plug it in, it doesn't necessarily actually charge—actually turned out to be a problem with the power cord: I borrowed my roommate's power cord and plugged my computer in with that, and it's charging just fine.
The other problems with the battery are still actual problems with the battery, though: it's slow to charge and quick to exhaust its charge. I had it plugged in for 25 minutes before the indicator advanced to "1% charge" (though it's been advancing by another 1% every couple minutes or so; it was really just the first step that it was having a hard time with).
Well, I've had the computer for 4 years and so it's getting old and slow. I was kind of planning to replace it over the summer anyway; seems silly to buy a new power cord and a new battery if I'm going to do that. Maybe I should just advance the schedule of replacing the computer.
