Yes, I finally succumbed. Don't be disappointed if I never write anything interesting here, though; it's just for the friends list.

However, as a reward for anyone who notices that this is here, I'll try to do that meme where you comment and I reply by telling you (1) whatever randomly comes to mind about you, (4) something which doesn't make sense to many people other than you and me, (5) my first clear memory of you, and (7) something I wonder about you, as well as what (2) song, (3) flavor, and (6) vowel I associate with you. Well, I'll try, anyhow.

1. I can understand how the first time I said "Heather and Jeff are getting married" you could have thought I was talking about you, before I explained that I was talking about someone else named Heather. It's the second time that puzzled me.
2. After some deliberation, I'm going to say "Class".
3. D'you remember "OK Soda"?
4. I am kind of drawing a blank here.... I would like to know if you lived in that room with all the fairies around the door, though; and though there are plenty of people who would know what I'm talking about, most of them probably won't see this comment.
5. See above as for lord_codfish and wolfheart17. I was in, like, the Lowell JCR, at the beginning of my senior year, and I was like, "Who's that?" and someone said "That's Heather," and I was like, okay.
6. [ɞ]. Let's see if that comes out; it should look a little like a heart on its side. The vowel itself is like a schwa, but a bit lower and rounder; or like the vowel I gave wolfheart17 but fronter.
7. The, like, paragraph or so of commentary under each installment of "The Naked Elf"—do you regard those as being an essential part of the comic, or essentially an embellishment?

1. For some reason I'm always surprised when I'm reminded that you're from Las Vegas. I guess I don't think of it as someplace real people live. Like Salem.
2. I think "More I Cannot Wish You" from Guys and Dolls seems to fit.

Yes, I was at the Masq junior year. I thought we had met earlier, though, perhaps at a Math 122 study session in Loker. Certainly I remember you singing the song about positive definite bilinear forms and I thought that was before the masq.

As for the couch, well, I can be flexible when needed. It beat sleeping on an airport waiting room seat. Thanks again to you and boojum42 for letting me crash.

I never took Math 122, so that couldn't be it. To be sure, I sang "Positive-Definite Non-Degenerate Symmetric Bilinear Forms" to a lot of people over the course of a couple years, though.

sorry i'm so late in responding. i've been out of town, but i'm home, now. well, sort of. moving.

1. it was a joke the first time i said it. the second time, i forgot that i'd already made that joke.

4. i did live in the froud room, for a year, although amusingly, i wasn't the one who painted it.

7. The little paragraphs are supposed to be simply embellishment. i try to keep them from getting too long or spending too much time bitching about the art. but sometimes i fuck up a page rather severely and enough people start saying 'i don't understand what's going on here', or else i reference something which the reader probably won't recognize (like when sylphi muses on whether to go to manray or not, most readers who don't live in boston aren't going to recognize it as a goth club.) then the little paragraph becomes important... ideally, though, the comics should stand on their own and not need explanations... ^_^

3. They only marketed it for like half a year, I think. It tasted a little like Coke and a little like orange soda and a little like Dr Pepper. I'm not sure why it reminds me of you, but I think it does. The marketing - I gather - was supposed to be appealing to disaffected youth, but that's not why. They had a phone number could call - 1-800-I-FEEL-OK - to hear short anecdotes about OK-ness.

6. Well, it's the description that counts. But if you look at it in Safari, the symbol should come out, I think.
