It's always struck me as a disappointment that the establishment located at 1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, isn't, like, a museum or a monument, but rather a TGI Friday's.
It is apparently also the Embassy Suites hotel, which seems less ridiculous.
Also, they clearly chose to have this address on purpose. The city's property tax database has two other properties in the 1700 block of the Parkway, namely 1700-20 and 1709. It's not like 1776 is between 1774 and 1778 here.
I don't know why I know that the city has a property tax database which is available online.
I mean, sure, if I were constructing something on the western edge of the 1700 block of the Parkway, I'd try and get the 1776 address too. I just kind of feel like, I don't know, something more awesome should have gotten there first or something.
