See this post of dumble's for a fuller explanation; in short, there's a thing on the Internet that will create a demo/medley of your iTunes collection, and it's pretty cool.

Here's mine. Unsurprisingly, it's mostly showtunes. (I used six-second excerpts, which means fewer songs than dumble had are sampled, but there's enough of nearly all of them to be recognizable.)

I particularly like the way mine ends.

I still prefer the short-clips-in-multiple-layers format of mine, which gives more of an impression of sounds than an explicit sample of songs. But wow, your ending totally wins. =)

I did mine in triple layers also, but it doesn't really come across—it sounds more like one at a time. I might try another version with shorter excerpts later on—maybe also with less of a bias towards my most-frequently-played songs.

It occurs to me that what this sounds like more than anything else is one of those station-identification bumpers that they play on WERS during Standing Room Only.

Oh, yeah: I also did mine with my top-rated songs, rather than my most frequently played songs.

I never had the energy to go through and assign ratings to all of my songs, so that wouldn't have worked for me.

I only rate songs I particularly like. Fortunately, that's sufficient in this case. =)
