So, Uz had told me and [livejournal.com profile] midnight_sidhe that he was planning to move out today, so I was kind of surprised to see him in the kitchen while I was making dinner. I asked him what his plans were, and he said he's moving out Monday. I'm like, Okay, I thought you said you were moving out today. Uz explains that when he said that he'd forgotten that the lease on his new apartment doesn't start until Monday.

He went on to tell me about an encounter he had with some Jehovah's Witnesses today. They handed him some flyers, and at first he was like, Well, it might be more useful to you to take these back and give them to someone who'd be more interested in them. And they were like, It's okay... you can keep them. Uz handed them back anyway, which was kind of awkward; but then, as they were walking away, he decided, well, everyone deserves their chance to speak and be heard. So he ran after the Jehovah's Witnesses and said to them, In Jewish tradition, we have this story about the rabbi Hillel....

So, long story short, Uz did in fact end up standing on one foot, letting the Jehovah's Witnesses evangelize to him.

Uz Story #1 is classic, quintessential Uz, I think.

Uz Story #2 is really quite awesome, and I wish I knew what the Witnesses made of it.
