Interstate 76 is one of the main highways serving Philadelphia. Contrary to the popular urban legend, it was not named in honor of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia in 1776.

The Outerbridge Crossing is named after Eugenius Outerbridge, not after the fact that it's the outer bridge between New York and New Jersey.

The Holland Tunnel connecting New York and New Jersey is named after Clifford Milburn Holland; its name is unrelated to the Dutch history of New York City.

The St. Lawrence Seaway (La Voie maritime du Saint-Laurent) is named after the St. Lawrence River, with which it coincides, not after the fact that Louis St. Laurent was Prime Minister when construction on the Seaway began.
